1st Annual Public Health and Medicine Summit June 3-4, 2008

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) is hosting the 1st Public Health and Medicine Summit June 3-4, 2008 at the Adam’s Mark Hotel, Indianapolis International Airport location. The Public Health and Medicine Summit will bring together the Public Health Nurses Conference and the Public Health and Medicine Day.

This summit is designed to encourage collaboration and networking among public health professionals and health care providers.   The benefit of bringing these two distinct groups together to improve the health system statewide is reflected in the summit’s theme, “Building Bridges.”  It is hoped this inaugural summit will be the foundation to expand and improve the public health infrastructure within Indiana.  Quick and professional collaboration and response is critical for mitigating public health events, and this summit is an effort to strengthen these roles in a common forum and to establish crucial relationships across the state.

The workshop begins Tuesday, June 3, with five optional concurrent workshops from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The summit continues Wednesday, June 4 with a full day of plenary and concurrent sessions on a variety of timely health topics. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to discover how medicine and public health can work together.

Keynote Speaker: James Galloway, M.D., FACP, FACC, Assistant Surgeon General
